Good Morning. So far day one of Vacation has been very productive! I can even cross a few things off my To Do List already!
- Be out of bed and dressed by 10 am (except on guilty pleasure day) CHECK
- Bake at least one thing
Organize my drawers and take unwanted things to good will
- Run at least 15 miles
- Clean out my car (it looks like a bomb went off in there)
- Make a new playlist
- Work on my resume
- Organize all my wedding shit stuff into a binder
- CHALLENGE: Find 1 free thing to do each day.
I met Kara at Cushing this morning for a walk/run. It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in Massachusetts and everyone in town seemed to have the same idea. As a result, I am now able to cross 5 out of my 15 miles off the to do list!
After my morning exercise I headed to my favorite place in the world. A place where the food is unique and wonderful, there are free samples, and the employees wear Hawaiian shirts. Can you guess???
Oh Trader Joe’s. Now I only allow myself to go to TJ’s every 2 weeks because otherwise, well it’s a disaster. There are so many unique things here that every time I go in, I find something new that I MUST have. On top of all my Trader Joe’s staples, (very cherry frozen fruit blend, bananas @ .19 cents each, whole wheat waffles, laughing cow cheese, pineapple salsa, and any of their chip selections), it can get pricey.
Today was a particularly impressive trip because I got in and out for $20! I also have a tradition with TJ’s. I always get something I can munch on in the car. Today’s car snack was a Black Cherry Almond Clif Bar.
It is 240 calories and has 10 grams of protein. Its a perfect post-run snack for me. With a cup of coffee, its just delicious.
Now I need to rant for a minute. I love my job, but sometimes I hate teaching in the town I live in. I always seem to run into people I know when I look TERRIBLE. I’m not a vain person by any means, but it always seems to be when I’ve just worked out or I’m hung over at breakfast wearing sweatpants and no makeup that I see people. Today was no different my friends.
In the 10 minutes I was in Trader Joe’s I saw a student I had last year, and another teacher who works at my school. ….And I looked like this:
A.K.A a hot mess!!! So, I did what every respectable, professional person would do in this situation… I hid in the produce aisle until they left the store. No judgement please!
Now it’s time to jump in the shower, and get ready to play hostess. We have an intense afternoon planned around a favorite team of ours. Fill you in later.
