Who Says There is No Such Thing As a Free Lunch?

I received a call from one of my bridesmaids today asking me if I would like to meet for lunch. Since I ate not-so-well yesterday and I’m trying desperately to save some $$$ I was hesitant. But then she mentioned that she had a gift card and I jumped all over it! Cue, Free Fun!

We went to P.F.Chang’s in the Natick Mall. I had never been there before, but I love me some Chinese food. I knew I had a big night ahead of me (I’ll get to that in a second) so I wanted to take it easy.

My problem with Chinese food is that I want to eat a little bit of everything when I get it. I love Crab Rangoon, fried rice, egg rolls, chicken fingers, General Tso, beef teriyaki, lo mein,…..pretty much everything there is!

I ended up using my better judgement and getting the:

DOUBLE PAN-FRIED NOODLES
Crisp egg noodles stir-fried with mushrooms, bok choy, carrots, celery and onions. Choice of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp or vegetable

Are you looking at this helping?! Oh my god this plate could have fed me for a week. I could feel the calories.

Usually I love a good greasy plate of Chinese food, but this dish was also sickeningly sweet. I am definitely a salt lover so I actually didn’t even make a dent in this plate. (Nolan was more than excited to eat the leftovers) The sauce was also very thick and it made the noodles soggy.

I would love to go back to P.F. Chang’s and try something else, but today’s choice was very disappointing. At least it was free right?

Today was an especially great day because it was absolutely gorgeous outside, and I had not one but TWO Free Fun events today!

Free Fun #2

What is better than free food? Honestly. Free Fun number 2 also involved a free meal. Nolan’s family had a birthday cookout today! I definitely could not pass this up once I heard what was on the menu: STEAK. Done and done! Steak on the grill is my kryptonite.-Well anything cooked on the grill really.

Since I was still a little full from lunch, I just had a few small pieces of steak and a side of potato salad. You know what’s an amazing combination? Potato salad and A1 Sauce.

Anyway day two of vacation was a success.

  • CHALLENGE: Find 1 free thing to do each day.

I am very excited for tomorrow’s Free Fun. It should be exciting and very motivating. If you live in the Boston area you may have an idea of where I will be tomorrow :-)
