Automotive Russian Roulette and a Marathon

Hello everyone! I have had another pretty productive morning

  • Be out of bed and dressed by 10 am (except on guilty pleasure day)
  • Run at least 15 miles 10/15
  • Clean out my car (it looks like a bomb went off in there)
  • CHALLENGE: Find 1 free thing to do each day.

Ok so I will start with my morning and then get to today’s Free Fun.

Funny story! So my car has been playing a little game of automotive Russian roulette. Basically is decides whether or not it wants to start on a whim. Last night it refused to start, and then this morning, it started up with no problem.

*Silver lining*- Anticipating having to take it to a shop sometime in the near future, I finally cleaned it all out.

  • Clean out my car (it looks like a bomb went off in there)

Once the car was cleaned, I picked up my asthmatic running partner (Hi Brian!). Today was another insanely hot day in MA (90 degrees) and we were only able to get about 3 miles in before we died.

  • Run at least 15 miles 10/15

Today’s Post Workout Snack:

This Clif Bar was amazing! It was sweet and salty and it really hit the spot! It was the perfect combo with my hazelnut ice coffee with milk no sugar :-)

After our snack we headed over to route 135 for today’s Free Fun!

***********

As you know I live in the Boston area, and today was a very important day! It’s Marathon Monday! The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon. It is 26.2 miles long and it attracts both professional and amateur runners from around the world! The Marathon route runs right through my town, so for as long as I can remember my family and I have gone to cheer on the runners. This year was no different.

Where I was watching from today was about the 5 mile mark for these runners. After Brian and I just finished our measly 3 miles in today’s heat, we were in awe of the dedication, athletic ability, and enthusiasm of today’s runners.

Almost as amazing as the runners are the amount of people who turn out every year to cheer on the runners, pass out water and orange slices, and give as much support as possible.

CHALLENGE: Find 1 free thing to do each day.

The city of Boston loves a good competition!

I am hoping to stay in the productive mood and cross one more thing off my to-do-list today because I already know tomorrow is going to be sooo much fun, but not too productive. Stay tuned :-)
