Vacation Recap and My Guilty Pleasure Day

Well it’s here. Today is the last day of my vacation. Typically vacation goes by so fast, but I feel like I really enjoyed every minute of my week off and did as many things as I possibly could.  Some of my favorite moments were:

Choosing our wedding flowers,

Going to the Red Sox Game

Cheering on the Boston Marathon runners

My baking excursion

Playoff hockey and the food

and just having some Katy alone time to relax.

I am probably most excited about the fact that I successfully accomplished all of the things on my to-do-list!

  • Be out of bed and dressed by 10 am (except on guilty pleasure day)
  • Bake at least one thing
  • Organize my drawers and take unwanted things to good will
  • Run at least 15 miles
  • Clean out my car (it looks like a bomb went off in there)
  • Make a new playlist
  • Work on my resume
  • Organize all my wedding shit stuff into a binder
  • CHALLENGE: Find 1 free thing to do each day.

It is usually very difficult for me to stick to the goals and expectations I set for myself. They really helped me stay on track and motivated me to get off the couch and go do stuff. I am currently trying to decided how I want to incorporate goals into my weekly schedule so that I do not go back to my lazy ways. I will probably start small and go from there. Stay tuned :-)

This morning I got up early, and headed out to cat and gym-sit. I am proud to say that I was much more successful today and I think I somewhat looked like I knew what I was doing!

I did 45 minutes of cardio between the elliptical and the stationary bike and then I headed to the weight room. Today I was not the only one there so I was able to watch a few people and see how to operate the machines. I did some shoulder, arm, and leg exercises and it felt fantastic. After cardio, everything else seems fun and easy to me.

It is a dark and rainy today, and the perfect *Guilty pleasure day*. I came home, showered and put on my sweatpants.  I plan on sitting on the couch, watching some hockey, and then some Red Box movies that I got for free because I had a coupon :-) Free Fun is my new favorite thing.

I rented The Descendents and J. Edgar. It will be so nice to relax today and get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

What is your favorite thing to do on vacation?  What is your guilty pleasure?

My name is Katy and I am a 26 yr old food lover living in the Boston area. My kitchen is my happy place and where I relieve my stress. I am always looking for new recipes to try, and restaurants to discover. I try to savor every flavor life has to offer. Sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bring it on!
