WIAW: Detox Addition

Happy WIAW everyone!

For those of you who are not regular SLF readers, (you should start) I am currently in detox mode! In other words this week I am trying my best to eat only fresh foods that either had a mother, or grew out of the ground.  This was day 2 of the detox and I did fairly well!

BREAKFAST:

A smoothie.

Ingredients:

I added a little fiber powder and skim milk and into the Magic Bullet it went.

I also toasted 1/2 of an Arnold sandwich thin and smothered it with pb2.

LUNCH:

Leftover soup from Monday’s lunch and a salad straight from the farm.

In this salad is:

  • Mixed greens
  • beets
  • radishes
  • cucumber
  • tomato
  • feta cheese
  • chicken breast

I brewed up a new batch of ice tea.

Green tea+mint leaves+lemon slices.

SNACK:

1/2 an apple and 2 slices of American cheese

DINNER:

Dinner was a total hunch that luckily came together very nicely! A few weeks ago I bought a ton of haddock because it was on sale. Yesterday I took about 1 1/2 pounds out of the freezer in preparation for dinner. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it but I didn’t want it plain. After some Googling, I came up with a few ideas. This is what I came up with.

Fish:

Sauce:

Pasta:

Meal:

The flavors worked very well together. I was a bit nervous about the fish because I just threw the bread crumbs on and didn’t use any egg, but it worked out fine. Even Nolan agreed that it was a fabulous dinner. It was like something you would be served at a restaurant. Success! There are TONS of leftovers. :-)

DESSERT:

A Jello pudding cup! I haven’t had one of these in probably 18 years but they still taste as good as I remember! And they are only 60 calories! Win Win,

FITNESS:

With my detox week, I am attempting to do as much physical activity as I can. Yesterday I went to the gym and completed this workout:

This workout got me very pumped up yesterday. My body is feeling so much better than last week.

In honor of this month’s WIAW theme, I snuck in a little extra workout in a very unlikely place…. The shower! Yup that’s right. While I was washing my hair, I did 50 standing crunches. Hey, it’s not like I had anything else to do!

I just love creative workouts!

Question:

Where is the strangest place you have ever exercised?

    Sounds like an awesomely sweaty workout! I’m writing it down and sticking it in my gym bag right now!

    Wow. If that’s what a detox looks like, then maybe I should go on one everyday. Lol. Just kidding!

      It certainly is for me. I tend to let processed foods take over my diet and skimp on the fresh stuff. My detox is simply more balanced meals. I am trying to eat for energy and not desire.
