It is about 100 degrees outside and sticky! I have no tolerance for the heat, so I made sure to plan a day full of a.c!
I started my morning with a trip to the gym. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and I was a sweaty, red mess.
After a quick superman style shower and change of clothes I was ready to start my day!
On today’s agenda was a trip to Legacy Place with my aunt and cousins! Legacy Place is a giant outdoor mall with incredible restaurants and stores! I was very excited to hit up one of my favorite stores, Love Culture.
I bought (well TRIED to buy but my “fairy godmother” never lets me pay for anything) a few things to wear on our honeymoon! I will take some pics asap!
I also picked up my bridesmaid dress for Kara’s wedding! It still needs to be altered but here is what it looks like:
I absolutely love the back of this dress. It has a beautiful train as well. It is probably the least hideous bridesmaid dress ever! No weird bows or fabrics! THANK YOU KARA!
After doing some shopping we worked up an appetite and headed to Yard House for lunch. This is one of my favorite restaurants because they have a very extensive menu with some great healthier options and also a very impressive beer menu. They get their name from the type of glasses they serve their drinks in. I didn’t get a yard today but I have in the past:
How cool is that?! It’s actually VERY difficult to drink out of, but totally worth the $10.
I was very proud of myself today because as I said they have an incredible menu with a wide range of delicious, unhealthy options. My mouth was watering as I browsed the burger section. However I used my better judgement and went with an under 600 calorie meal.
AHI TUNA CRUNCHY SALAD
– Seared rare, field greens, asian slaw and crispy wontons tossed in soy vinaigrette
I ordered it with dressing on the side an only used about 1/3 of the container. The tuna was so great and the acid from the dressing really made a tasty combination of flavors. I have actually ordered this salad before at Yard House so I knew it would be a winner!
The 4 of us sat and talked about my upcoming shower and how exciting the wedding plans have been. I am so lucky to have such a great and supportive family.
It was a fabulous day, and I managed to stay nice and cool! It is safe to say we will be sleeping on the air mattress in the living room again tonight with our a.c on full blast. I can’t wait to see this month’s electric bill.
How are you staying cool on this hot day?
