I had two fantastic Thanksgivings! I only took photos of Thanksgiving # 1 because I was half in a coma for Thanksgiving # 2. I wish I could say I was still full from the dinners, but my appetite was in full swing this morning. 🙂
#1 was at my aunt’s house. As usual, she put together an absolutely spectacular feast! Look at all that food!
Look at all those mashed potatoes!
There were rolls, breads, 3 types of vegetables, a green bean casserole, a ham, a turkey, mashed potatoes, 3 types of stuffing, butternut squash, 2 types of cranberry, and salad.
Turkey, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, squash, green bean casserole, root vegetables.
The best thing about Thanksgiving foods is that they mesh so well together. The best bite is always the last bite. The trick is to leave a little bit of each item left so that last bite is a blend of flavors and textures. Yummmmmm.
Then, it was dessert time! I didn’t think I could fit another thing into my stomach, until I saw the spread.
It was way too difficult to choose with all these incredible options! I went with pumpkin chiffon, pumpkin cheesecake, and chocolate pumpkin cake.
My favorite, as always, was the pumpkin cheesecake. I wish I could put all the flavors into words, but somethings are indescribable.
By now, my pants were holding on for dear life! Luckily, we had 3 hours before Thanksgiving # 2 at Nolan’s parent’s house.
Like I said, I didn’t take any pictures, but my plate consisted of turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes, green bean casserole and stuffing muffins! Nolan and I made sure to bring our muffins, and they were a hit. Any food in muffin form is a good time right?!
We made sure to bring plenty of Tupperware for leftovers. 🙂 Nolan’s family typically makes a second turkey just for leftovers! Genius.
What was your favorite item on your Thanksgiving plate this year?
