Well it was a 24 hr bug, then a 48 hr bug, and then day 5 came.
I was up all night coughing (sorry Nolan 🙁 ) and I woke up this morning with absolutely no voice or energy. Since I have asthma, simple colds can rapidly become respiratory nightmares. It’s probably my own fault. My body was clearly telling me it needed a break and I kept working all week.
So I finally called in sick and went to the doctor. They gave me lots of drugs and a breathing treatment which certainly helped. They told me to take the rest of the week off to rest my body and currently non existing voice and get my breathing under control. They also told me to drink lots of hot fluids, take hot baths (steam helps congestion) and to make Nolan sleep on the couch so we both get some sleep and he doesn’t get sick.
Since my breathing is under control right now, it’s time to climb into a bubble bath with a nice cup of tea. 🙂 Doctor’s orders.
