Morning! Well, day 3 of vacation was much better! I felt about 60% better, and I can finally take deep breaths without coughing up a lung! I even got in a 30 minute workout on my exercise bike. -Don’t worry mom, I took it easy and had my inhaler in sight the whole time. And surprise surprise, we got more snow!
This was the last straw. We needed something to look forward to and keep us optimistic thought this hellish winter we are enduring here in Massachusetts. So, we booked a trip!
Obviously Nolan and I are foodies, and we love trying new foods and cuisine in fun places. For years now we have been wanting to take a trip to New Orleans and we could never quite find the right time and vacation package. UNTIL NOW! I am excited to say that we finally booked our dream trip to the Big Easy! We will be visiting for 4 days, 3 nights and staying in a King Suite in this fabulous hotel right on Bourbon street.
On top if it being gorgeous….it
may be is haunted. People have been reporting seeing ghosts in this hotel for years and I must admit, after watching this season of American Horror Story, I’m scared but very intrigued.
So did we suddenly win the lottery? Don’t I wish! (It certainly would have been nice to win that $400 million Powerball drawing.) We were able to get this incredible package through Bookit! We will be traveling over Easter weekend which goes right into my April Vacation, (8 weeks away!) and is the perfect time for Nolan to take off a few work days. I’m siked because New Orleans is known for their celebrations and they have Easter parades scheduled for that weekend that will surely be entertaining. On top of the flight and hotel, our package includes a free Trolly bus tour, 2 free drinks upon arrival, and a free Jazz brunch for two. So Nolan and I will be enjoying our Easter brunch at a jazz club, eating gulf seafood and enjoying the projected 80 degree weather. I’m giddy, can you tell I’m giddy?!
I have actually been to New Orleans before when I was about 14, and way too young to fully appreciate the culture and cuisine. I do remember the Beignets and I can’t wait to eat and drink my way through the city! While we are there we plan on eating as much Cajun and Creole cooking as we can and I’m hoping to dine at one of Emeril’s many restaurants in the area.
But above all we plan to have a blast together in one of the coolest cities in the United States. I love the trips we take together because we get to relax and have fun without the distractions of home. So if anyone who is familiar with the area has any suggestions for us, please let me know! It does not have to be food related at all.
-If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
– Do you have anywhere you want to visit, just for the food?
-Have any vacations planned?
