This week’s eats were kind of underwhelming. Believe it or not, I only used the stove ONCE this whole week!! How is that even possible?! I didn’t try any new recipes or ingredients, and we basically just lived off of leftovers. A major contributing factor was that Nolan came down with the stomach bug Monday night and basically threw up through Wednesday. NOT FUN! He is the loudest puker ever. EVER. Anyway, he couldn’t hold down any food at all, and I hate just cooking for myself. It gives me no pleasure what so ever so I had zero motivation to create anything new or exciting. And since I was petty confident I would eventually catch this bug (so far so good!!) I kept my eats pretty tame just in case. Here is a look at this week’s dinner schedule:
Monday- Use Groupon at Tavolino
Tuesday- Leftovers from Monday night
Wednesday- Simple chicken stir fry
Thursday- Leftover pizza from Sunday
My simple stir fry (the one time I used the stove) consisted of a diced chicken breast with peppers and onions over brown rice with a little jerk sauce mixed in. Nothing Earth shattering or picture worthy. Bottom line, there was little competition for this week’s favorite flavor, but if I could have one more bite of something, it would be the Tuscan, flat bread nachos at Tavolino! Layers of crispy flat bread covered in Mororella, roasted red peppers, and fresh basil served with a marinara dipping sauce. They were freaking delicious, unique, and hopefully easy to recreate at home.
