Heyyyy! First off, how the hell is it already the end of May?! This time of year is always stressful for me as a teaching assistant. I LOVE my school and the people I work with, but the ultimate goal is getting my own classroom which is a hell of a process filled with lots of unknowns and even more rejections. Sounds fun right? Needless to say I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen, where I use my stress to make deliciousness!
IDK if it’s the control, the predictability, or that I’m just so good at it but cooking always makes me feel better. However, I’m not a stress eater. When I’m stressed the last thing I do is eat because the butterflies in my stomach are taking up all the empty space, so mostly I just cook and Nolan eats. Works for me!
Sushi date! Some days I cannot stand the thought of making a decision so this weekend Nolan and I went out for dinner and he did all the ordering. A+ with these three rolls.
Left to right:
White Phoenix Maki- Fried Ebi and Kanikama, Avocado Topped Off With a Layer of Torched White Tuna, Spicy Mayo, Honey Yuzu Marmalade Sauce, Micro Greens & Black Tobiko
Red Sox Maki- Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Red Onions Topped Off with Red Tobiko
Pineapple Crunch Maki– Pineapple Chunks, Fried Taro Crunch, Tempura Flakes Topped Off with Lobster Salad
A few months ago I posted my culinary bucket list, filled with all the foodie things I hope to accomplish and eat! This is definitely a working list that is sure to be lengthened over the months and years. Thanks to my recent trip to New Orleans, I was able to cross a few things off my list!
I cannot wait for this weekend! Nolan and I will be heading to my favorite place for the long weekend. I can taste the seafood and hear the ocean now!
And I’m off! Enjoy the day!
