Happy New Years Eve! I am not going to get into how quick the year has gone by or my resolutions right now because honestly I cannot wrap my head around 2016 yet. More to come on that later. For now, onto the eats!
I have another new-ish Trader Joe’s product to review today! Srisacha Potstickers. Sriracha is a real buzzword in today’s food world and TJ’s is on the bandwagon. From sauces to popcorn, they put sriracha on everything! And generally, we are loving it.
Typically Nolan and I have a box of TJ’s potstickers on hand. They are cheap, yummy, and easy to heat up for a tailgate. We often bring them to Sullivan family cookouts too. So when I came across these babies in the Frequent Flyer I knew we needed to pick up a box. Plus, they come in festive Christmas colors….
The box comes with 12 frozen potstickers stuffed with seafood. They are a good size and have a great seafood to wrapping ratio which is always important in my mind. To cook, you heat them in a skillet with a little oil, and then add a few teaspoons of water and steam them. The picture doesn’t look great, but they come out looking beautiful in about 6 minutes.
These have a really nice spice but it’s not overpowering and the seafood stuffing has great texture. Nolan LOVES these (we have another box in the freezer already) but honestly I’m not 100% sure. I think my biggest…..complaint? idk….. is that sriracha and soy sauce just do not get along in my mouth. I like sriracha spice and I like soy sauce but together the soy sauce really overpowered the seafood and spice. (Nolan 100% disagrees FYI) I did eat one without dipping it in soy sauce and it was good, but just not fantastic. Again, Nolan loves these, but I wanted to be honest about thoughts.
They are I think $3.99 a box so give them a try and decide for yourselves!
