TGIF! This time of year I am living for the weekends. Ok, I am always living for the weekends, but this time of year it’s for a completely different reason: Playoff Football.
When it comes to tailgating, taste is our number one priority followed closely by convenience. We like to use simple ingredients that are cheap and typical of us to have on hand. We also like things we can slow cook or throw together quickly. No one wants to miss any of the action because they are standing over the stove. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order.
Cream cheese, spaghetti sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Easy and delectable.
2. Mini meatballs$4 at Trader Joe’s. Dump them in the crock pot with a sauce of your choice (I recommend the General Tso sauce from TJ’s)
I jar of S&A dip and a loaf of french bread. Doesn’t get much easier or cheaper.
Whatever you have leftover from the crock pot- pulled pork, pulled chicken, whatever, plus tortillas. A real crowd favorite.
A loaf of round bread, shredded cheese, garlic, and pepperoni
Of course we love chicken wings, pigs in a blanket, and chips and dip but those are pretty typical tailgating snacks. I plan to whip out some of these recipes this weekend for the big Patriots VS. Broncos game!
